Youth Theatre

Come and join us at NMPAT Youth Theatre!

Our team of staff love delivering ensembles and activities that have been designed around our existing membership, ensuring that everyone has something to get involved with!

Students receiving small group or individual tuition with an NMPAT teacher, or students taking part in a “First Access Follow On Project” at school, are eligible to receive a fully subsidised first term of activities.

Families in financial need are encouraged to apply for remission of fees – please ask your Centre Head for information or find an application form on our payments page.

From September 2025, membership subscription of £105 per term is due at the start of each term. A new term begins in September, January and April.

If you would like to join us, you can register at this link: https://bit.ly/YouthTheatre2526 and Nikki Taylor, Centre Head, will be in touch with more information.

NMPAT Youth Theatre provides high quality performing arts opportunities for young people aged 9 to 18.   We keep the social, emotional and education development of our young people at the heart of what we do, aiming to inspire and nurture our students, allowing them to excel.

Each week, we incorporate games to encourage participation and team working, improving our communication skills and encouraging articulate, confident and well-rounded individuals to advance their skills in all aspects of theatre craft:

  • Acting – performing scripted plays from Greek Theatre up to the present day
  • Devised Drama
  • Musical Theatre – vocal techniques and creative movement
  • Technical Stagecraft: sound, lighting, production, direction, set design and make up
  • Physical Theatre
  • Playwriting

We offer Skills Workshops to support our weekly activities, which have included:

  • Frantic Assembly Theatre – Physical Theatre
  • Circus skills
  • Sound and lighting

We also run a script-writing competition to encourage young writers and focus on nurturing creativity, as well as having fun and making friends.  Throughout the year, we work towards a big performance in the summer term – a celebration of our student’s efforts.

The online registration form asks for some essential details, which will enable NMPAT staff to keep your child safe while they are with us. You are more than welcome to come and try out the activities before you commit to paying your first term’s subscription.

Following your free taster morning, payment of £105 per term applies and can be made via the ParentPay Shop. Families in financial need are encouraged to apply for remission of fees – details of which can be found on our Financial Support page.
