Centres
What is a Centre?
NMPAT Centres enable children and young people of all ages and abilities to participate in the arts. They are open to anyone – you don’t need to play an instrument or have any previous experience – and each one serves and supports the community local to them.
At every Centre you will find instrumental ensembles, groups for students with no prior experience, a range of arts activities, talented and supportive staff, and a very warm welcome!
NMPAT also run Specialist Centres including:
- Y Not Arts – for those with additional needs
- Youth Theatre – specifically for all things drama

How can I join?
Find the Centre nearest to you using the links below, click through to the page to see the venue and term dates. You are welcome to go along any Saturday for a free trial morning – you can just turn up!
Once you’ve decided that you would like to join for the term, there is an online essential details form to complete. This form holds some essential details that will enable NMPAT staff to look after all students whilst they are at the Centre – the Centre Head will be able to help if you have any questions or queries.
How much does it cost?
Termly membership of a Centre is £105, from September 2025, with payment due at the start of each school term (September, January, April).
Financial assistance is available for those in need – please visit our Financial Support page where you will find an application form.
If you are having small group music lessons in school with an NMPAT teacher, your first term of Centre membership is fully funded! Following your first term, the usual subscription cost of £105 per term will apply.
